Salado Glassworks -- Glassblowing -- Area in the studio to watch the artists or sign up for the “Blow Your Own” events
Capitol tours -- Free tours available Mon-Sun. Check website for times
Capitol Days with Texas Homeschool Coalition -- Feb 4, Mar 5 or April 3 registration fee required; great for learning how the Texas government operates
Star gazing party -- 3rd Saturday night each month-free event at Meyer Observatory near Clifton; registration encouraged
We saw the craters on the moon, Saturn’s rings and other stars and planets.
Austin Nature and Science Center, 2389 Stratford Dr, Austin; Free; open Mon-Sun
Zilker Botanical Garden, 2220 Barton Springs Rd, Austin; Small admission fee
Dallas World Aquarium -- A little pricey but amazing! Easy to spend the entire day there
Studying Texas History?
Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site -- Star of the Republic Museum, Barrington Living History Farm (a real working farm) and Independence Hall; Admission is charged with a family fee available
Then end the day with a scoop or two of Blue Bell ice cream in Brenham at the Creamery
The Alamo, San Antonio -- Free admission but guided and audio tours available; The Young Texans Tour is highly recommended
